Ambient scribe
An AI scribe that listens to a visit in real time and produces a note automatically.
An ambient scribe records the patient visit through a microphone, transcribes it, and generates a structured clinical note (usually SOAP) without the clinician dictating or typing. Ambient scribes are the dominant category of AI scribe as of 2026. Freed, Nabla, Abridge, DeepScribe, Heidi, Suki, and Augmedix Go are all ambient scribes.
