SMART on FHIR

An open standard that lets third-party apps read and write to an EHR.

SMART on FHIR is an open specification that lets third-party clinical apps (including AI scribes) authenticate to an EHR and read or write clinical data using FHIR resources. Native write-back on Epic, Cerner, and Athena is often built on SMART on FHIR.
